I’m Zahiyya, I provide women the tools they need to be the BEST version of themselves through DIY modest fashion tutorials, online business branding and self-development.
This is a community for women who want modest fashion to look fabulous on them. It’s a place where women are challenged to get clear on who they are and how they want to be in the world by honing their modest style, business and personal goals.
The word modesty when looked up means “unassuming, shy, bashful and self-conscious”.
There is nothing shy or shrinking about us women who decide to dress modestly. We promote the exact opposite!
This is a community for women who are bold, brave, fashionable, self-assured and most importantly are confident with the idea that their bodies don’t need to be constantly on display or sexually objectified. Our bodies are concealed but we are not hiding.

What is a Brand?
A Brand is the way you are seen in the world whether it be personally or professionally, it is your identity. It’s the way you carry yourself and conduct business.
When dressing, you look for a statement piece that amplifies and flatters you. With your business you want to attract the right customers who are interested in buying what your selling.
Both a good personal and business brand are needed to succeed.
Whether you’re looking to make your own modest clothes to fit and flatter your curves, to hone your personal style or looking to build an online business brand, I hope you’ll find some value in the resources on this site.

Get to Know Me
For as long as I could remember I wanted to be a fashion designer. It started with the clothes I had to wear when I was young. Growing up in a Muslim household really put restrictions on the type of clothes my sisters and I were allowed to wear. In my mind I thought, if I had to wear these clothes I had to be FLY.
I learned how to sew, from my parents and my aunts in the community. In high school when I didn’t have work I’d have an idea in my head and run home to make it for the next day. It was great.
I went to HS for fine art and œstudied fashion design in college. Throughout high school and college I was fortunate enough to work at Harlem Textile Works under my mentor Kerris Wolskey who passed away tragically and way to soon. Under her tutelage I learned about business, textile art, screen printing, surface and fabric design, it was a great experience and one that I am truly thankful for.
Since then, I’ve spent the last 20+ years designing and sewing for private clients and building millions in revenue for firms in the fashion industry. My work has been featured in various publications including the New York Times, the Huffington Post, Aziza Magazine and the Philadelphia Enquirer among others. Within the last 10 years I’ve built online businesses and websites for consultants, entrepreneurs and small companies.
